We are all broken. We have all sinned. We have all missed the mark. We are all struggling with a hurt, habit, or hang-up.

– Founder John Baker

Celebrate Recovery is a ministry born out of the heart of Saddleback Church (Rick Warren), and over the past twenty-five years, this recovery curriculum has spread worldwide and has been published and translated into several languages.

The purpose of CR is to fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the 12 Steps and 8 Recovery Principles. This experience allows us to be changed. We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God’s grace in solving our lives’ problems. By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and, most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program, we discover our personal, loving, and forgiving Higher Power –Jesus Christ!

Many people are misinformed about who this program is for, believing that it is only for those who have addictive behaviors and struggles. What makes this recovery program so unique is that it also offers to heal those who are experiencing grief, depression, sexual abuse, and loneliness. It is not uncommon for a “Newcomer” (first-time guest) to express that they aren’t even sure why they are there, they just weren’t happy with their present condition, but they heard that CR was a safe place where they could find acceptance, friendship, and no judgment.

At RCC’s CR, meals are provided at 6 pm prior to the 7 pm meeting. The Large Group Meeting begins with worship and consists of either teaching or testimony, while the Small Group’s purpose is to reflect on the principles discussed. An offering is received at each meeting.

We have a wonderful group of faithful and committed volunteers. Without these volunteers, CR could never happen. Duties range from greeters, food preparation, food serving, food clean-up, teaching, sharing testimonies, leading small groups, sponsors, PowerPoint presentations, worship, sound, set-up, break down, material preparation, and marketing. They all come with willing hearts, exhibit great teamwork, and are willing to step up to the challenge of the needs of this ministry even at the cost of bringing them out of their comfort zone.

CORE encourages current and future disciples to have a living and personal relationship with the Lord while realizing the power of their identity in Christ. This ministry explores the fundamental CORE truths of Christianity through the study of scriptures. Regardless of where you are in your journey with Christ, these courses are for everyone who desires to know Jesus more intimately. This will be a safe place to ask questions while building meaningful relationships with others.

CORE 101

CORE 101 covers the fundamental truths of Christianity through the study of scripture. This class is for everyone, regardless as to where you are on your spiritual journey!  All current and future disciples (a learner, a follower, someone committed to their teacher) who are interested in discovering and exploring the foundational truths of Christianity are welcome to join!

Each course is 12 weeks. You can jump in at any time. Each week is a new lesson that stands on its own, so you don’t ever have to feel as though you are missing something. New people are welcome every week!

CORE 201

This Class is for those who have completed CORE 101 and desire to continue to grow in their Christian Walk. These courses are designed to challenge believers, digging deeper into the scriptures with the goal of falling more in love with Jesus and ultimately being transformed more and more into the likeness of Christ with the purpose of being developed and trained as future disciples.

CORE 201 also takes it to the next level and is focused on Discipleship Training for Christians who mentor/disciple others in their Christian Walk. Through these classes, you will be continuing your own “transformational journey” while being equipped and trained to walk alongside others through recommended teaching tools and practices to support and minister to those you disciple.

Core 201 offers 6 classes over a 15-week period that build upon the principles and concepts learned in CORE 101 and are intended for the purpose of deeper study, reflection and application.

Breathe by Priscilla Shirer

One of the greatest challenges among women in our culture is taking time to cease from all the activities and just breathe. We are in bondage to busyness. We constantly strive to complete the limitless to-do lists that hinder us from experiencing all that God has for us. By neglecting time for tranquility, serenity, and repose, we limit our Christlikeness and miss out on some of God’s greatest gifts. In the Old Testament, Sabbath was given to the Israelites as a gift, and it is still a gift to us today. If you are weary, worn out, and exhausted, then the concept of Sabbath will change your life.
Build margin back into your life for God.
View the Sabbath as a gift for the weary, worn out, and exhausted.
Set boundaries for yourself if you must always be doing something for God.
