Just a little over a year ago we moved into our most recent location and we are already bursting at the seams!
We learned that Christ’s Church Fleming Island campus was for sale and River Christian Church submitted a purchase offer.
Christ’s Church decision to select RCC over other potential buyers has provided us with a fast, turn-key opportunity to increase our service and outreach to the community.
For answers to any questions stay tuned to this page, or follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for updates as we quickly approach our first services at the new campus in July!
July 28, 2019 Update
May 5, 2019 Update
We are feverishly working to prepare for the 4.3 mile transition to Fleming Island from our Middleburg Campus. Our transition team is reviewing all programming currently offered at the Fleming Island Campus to determine any opportunities for RCC to meet needs in the community.
Announcement from Pastor Nathan
History of RCC
RCC is growing and limited in the number of people it can serve during Sunday worship, special events, and throughout the week when ministries meet.
RCC was prepared to begin building on the current site in November of 2018. Before making a substantial financial investment to begin, the church wanted to make sure we looked again at all of the available options, which included vacant land, vacant buildings, and multiple other church properties. The Christ Church Fleming Island campus (“Campus”) was on the market for sale and was the only property that met the needs of RCC out of all of those possibilities.
In the long term, it is less expensive to purchase the Campus than it is to build on the current RCC property. It also allows RCC to have more immediate benefits, rather than waiting over a year, it saves the church on the purchase of additional equipment and furniture and provides for future expansion possibilities, as needed.
Currently, we are scheduled for July 28th, 2019. CCFI will be leasing the Campus from RCC until then.
CCFI is best able to answer that question.
RCC welcomes all people to worship and serve alongside as Brothers and Sisters of Christ, but where people choose to worship is a personal decision.
RCC’s DNA will not change. RCC will now have more space to be the community church we are – supporting ministries, conducting outreach to the Clay County community, training disciples, and worshipping on Sunday mornings!
Sharing Tree Preschool will finish the school year and reopen in August of 2019 as River Preschool, with the same fantastic leadership and teachers, and under the administration of RCC. More information can be found on the preschool’s new website at http://www.riverpreschool.org.
How churches interpret and act upon the word of God can differ widely. RCC is from the same affiliation of churches, holding to the same understanding of essential beliefs as Christ’s Church.
